ISCA Chairman leads over 150,000 in Muslim Celebration in Southeast Asia

Shaykh Kabbani leads a traditional Islamic celebration in City Park in IndonesiaIn his second trip to Southeast Asia this year, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Hisham Kabbani visited four nations in the span of one month, where he led many public gatherings and spoke on the importance of traditional Islamic principles. Beginning the tour in Singapore, the renowned leader led a large congregational prayer at the Habib Nuh mosque, and spoke at a few other gatherings in the country before departing for Malaysia, where prominent Malays hosted him and ISCA staff for several large gatherings. From Malaysia, the group travelled to Australia where Shaykh Kabbani spoke on interfaith relations and spirituality at a well-attended event at the Theosophical Society of Melbourne.

Shaykh Kabbani Distributes Humanitarian Aid in Africa

africa201007_04In his 5 day trip to Kenya and outlying areas in July 2010, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani distributed a large amount of funding that was used for several different humanitarian aid projects, including supplemental aid for local orphanages, constructing new wells, and feeding the needy in over 20 towns, cities and villages in the area. One of the orphanages supported in this endeavor was the Mama Fatuma’s Goodwill Children’s Home in the Eastleigh district of Nairobi. Located in an impoverished neighborhood with a shortage of electricity and water, the facility currently looks after 85 orphan boys and girls. Shaykh Kabbani personally visited the orphanage and was honorably welcomed by colorfully dressed orphans singing traditional Arabic songs of praise to show their love and respect for their esteemed guest.

Shaykh Kabbani addresses Unity, Peace and Love Conference in the UK

In his summer 2010 tour of the United Kingdom, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Hisham Kabbani had several speaking engagements including a keynote address at the Unity, Peace and Love conference where he addressed the status of Muslim extremism today. At the Hilton Hotel in Watford, Shaykh Kabbani stood before hundreds of attendees and gave an emotionally charged speech which illustrated the true problem of extremism today:  it is not a war against the West, he stated – it is a war against Muslims BY Muslims. It is the Wahhabi extremists who are killing the Sufi, traditional Muslims worldwide, extinguishing age old practices and places of worship across the Muslim world, in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Palestine, Kashmir and other countries.

Shaykh Kabbani Visits Ghana

As part of his 2010 African Tour, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Hisham Kabbani visited Ghana. The shaykh was treated as an honored dignitary, meeting with religious leaders as well as with former Vice President Aliu Mahama.

March 2, 2010 was a historical day for the Naqshbandi students of Ghana as Shaykh Hisham Kabbani visited Cape Coast's famous slave trade castle. The Cape Coast slave castle, which President Obama and the First Lady visited on July 11,  2009, was a seaside fortress used by slave traders starting in the 17th century. The fortress has now been converted into a monument to the millions of Africans cast into slavery.
