as Salam alaykum:
When the great American Da'iya Shaykh Hisham Kabbani spoke at the U.S. State
Department,it was the first time I was able to hold up my head when a Muslim leader in
the United States talked about Islam and not hang it in shame and embarrassment. The
reason I applaud him is that he has had the courage to tell the truth about Islam. Leaders
before him have spoken and no doubt will continue to do so. But their spee ches are for
re-play for audiences in their home countries. Shaykh Hisham is an American. He
speaks for ordinary American Muslims. After his talk they will know the answer to the
questions that concern them. No! - They do not have to support nationalist terrrorists
organizations to be bona fide Muslims. No! Their faith is not on the line for refusing to
act against their government's efforts to stem the tide of international terrorism.
Islam is NOT a religion that sanctions violence against the innocent in any way. It does not create
solidarity within by making enemies without. This is all that Shaykh Hisham has said.
The reason he has had to face criticism for his statement is that it exposed the so-called
American Muslim leadership where they hide: the bank vaults of foreign dictatorships and
the training camps of international terrorists. Can we seriously doubt that there are among
this body leadership foreign agents in the pay of overseas governments? We know that
their khutbas are routinely edited by their embassies before they can be preached.
We know that they regularly beg their congregations for money for Mossad-founded groups
like Hamas. This is a matter of public record. Perhaps our government should demand
that these so-called imams register as the foreign agents they so patently are. Indeed,
maybe registration as a foreign agent should be made a condition for them receiving from
aborad that funding they so busily lavish on spreading their propaganda of lies. In reality
they are worse than the Christian missionaries in Muslim countries. These missionaries
that go out to these countries, are of course misguided but they are at least earnest. They
do the best that they know. Insha'allah when they know better they will do better.
Muslim propagandists in the US, however, all too often know the truth but conceal it
behind a veil of half truths and falsehood, all for the sake of financial gain.
To be fair, not every one of them is like that. Some are simply naive dupes of malign
conspiracies. Others live in fear for their families at home. But if this is so, should they
try to represent Islam? The vocaiton of da'iya is exceedingly high. A person who
reaches this rank must be beyond fear and venality. Shaykh Hisham has shown that he is
beyond fear and therefore worthy of this calling. His first concern has not been with his
own survival. The Umma is enough for him. May God grant him a long life. Thank
You Shaykh Hisham for standing up for Truth. Prayers and blessings upon the Prophet
and Praise to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
Sincerely,
Paul Hardy
