Criticism of Shaykh Hisham

Dearest brothers and sisters in Islam,

The criticisms of Shaykh Hisham Kabbani amount to a very serious error and one which ought to be retracted. Such a criticism - in the form of a joint statement- is unethical and shows a lack of understanding of the inherent wisdom
contained in Shaykh Hisham's brief talk. It is far from being an attack on Islam: rather it amounts to a perceptive analysis of how far Muslims have gone in their corruption and misinterpretation of their own religion. Muslims today are "hot" and not "cold" : they readily allow their passions to come to the surface. This is a bad sign for their spiritual well-being. Being "hot-headed" is a sign of weakness and even of apostacy. Shaykh Hisham is redressing the imbalance in the souls of Muslims. Have we forgotten our Beloved Prophet, Seyyidna Muhammad??? I am not sure what the motivations of the "joint statement" are but they appear to come from deep-seated emotions which ought to be eradicated once and for all. I am ashamed that Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and W.D.Muhammad have disgraced themselves in this manner by lending their names to the statement. One would have wished for greater understanding on their part.

It seems - so late in the day - that we have truly and irrevocably trashed our religion underfoot. It is a sad day and one which will rebound, in a negative way, on the creators of such chaos.

La Hawla Wa La Quwata Ila Billah -
