Asalaaumu alaikum--

We are amazed at the public condemnation of Shaykh Hisham by your
organization.

If you had any questions or doubts about the Shaykh's intentions at
the State Department
meeting, then the proper response would have been to speak to Shaykh
Hisham directly
and discuss these issues with him. The public condemnations of him,
including
passing out slanderous flyers at juma prayers are inappropriate to say
the least.

Is this the way you are teaching Islam to the members of your
organization?

Because a lot people will not go any further to search for the truth
of the matter, your
condemnations have carried a lot of weight with the innocent Muslims
who have put
their trust in your leadership.

Anyone who knows Shaykh Hisham knows how ridiculous and outlandish the
claims are which your
organizations are making.  But Muslims who do not know him only hear
what your organization wants them to think.

Because of irresponsible people who obviously
have some other agenda, many Muslims now hate this man who is trying
to protect their religious freedom in America.

Why are you not denouncing terrorism instead of condeming Shaykh Hisham?

Why don't you speak up in support of your followers to protect them
from the growing threat to all Muslims living in America?  If you are
not aware of the real threat that we as
Muslims all face, why don’t you research this information for yourself.

If you will not do this for your members, then why are you opposing
Sheikh Hisham for trying to make this distinction between moderate
Muslims who pose no threat to the
government and the very real threat of extremist Muslims?

Banding together to condemn Shaikh Hisham and twisting his words to
make him sound evil obviously suit some other intended purpose which
is causing genuine concern among
moderate Muslims living in America.

From moderate, peace-loving Muslims who also
love the country they were born in (U.S.) where we are
guaranteed the freedom to practice our religion,

Rahma and Abdul Kabir
