Through publications, meetings, seminars and conferences in the United States and abroad, ISCA educates government officials on the religion, culture and history of the Muslim world. Our goal is to enhance cultural sensitivity and generate awareness of the Muslim identity in these regions. In addition, ISCA works closely with representatives of Muslim nations, providing them with a reliable source for traditional Islamic literature on a variety of topics.

On June 13, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani met with the president of Afghanistan to discuss the challenges facing that nation as it emerges from decades of war and civil strife, as well as issues affecting the Muslim world as a whole. Both agreed that Sufism represents an important and effective bulwark against the further spread of extremism in the region.

On October 24, an ISCA delegation, led by Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, traveled to Washington, DC, to participate in a groundbreaking conference on Sufism and its implications for United States foreign policy. More than 100 key government officials and representatives from Capitol-area think tanks attended the symposium, which featured presentations by a number of leading academics and foreign policy experts.

On Thursday, September 11, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani traveled to Chicago for a four-day visit to the Windy City. The shaykh visited area mosques and met with local Muslim leaders to discuss the importance of reviving the traditional practices of Islamic spirituality, or tasawwuf.

ISCA Chairman Returns to America, Celebrates Holy Month of RajabISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani returned to the United States on August 28 after a three-month world tour that took him to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. His return coincided with the start of the Islamic holy month of Rajab, the Month of Allah, which Shaykh Kabbani marked by hosting a four-day celebration at the As-Siddiq Institute and Mosque.

ISCA Tackles Extremism in the Federal Prison System
On Tuesday, March 13, ISCA Chairman Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani led a delegation to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons' annual chaplains' conference, where he delivered a speech on the growing threat of Islamist radicalism within America's corrections system. ISCA representatives also used the opportunity to meet with the heads of America's federal penal system to discuss ways to promote traditional Islam and counter this dangerous trend.
