President Bush announces prayer vigil for today (Washington, DC - 09/14/01) Yesterday afternoon, President Bush announced that today, Friday, September 14, 2001, would be a national day of mourning, remembrance and prayer. The announcement was made subsequent to the Islamic Supreme Council of America's call to join Congress in making Wednesday, September 12th a day of mourning for the victims of Tuesday's grievous terrorist attack.
