Shaykh Hisham appointed deputy of Central Java

At-Taufiqy Boarding School for Islamic Studies

On April 28, the shaykhs traveled to Pekalongan by train.

The next day, they attended, on a special invitation, Shaykh Taufiq Subki's boarding school where over 15,000 students welcomed the shaykhs.

The shaykhs descended from the limos, escorted by military police, and were greeted by a massive line of drummers and reciters of qasa'id. Passing through this honorary line, they arrived at the home and majlis of Shaykh Taufiq (right, 3rd photo)

Security was very tight for the formal welcoming of the Shaykhs because crowds of more than 15,000 faithful were eager to reach the Shaykhs simply to obtain Allah's blessing (baraka) by means of their touch.

On this momentous day, Mawlana Shaykh Nazim, Grandshaykh and World Leader of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Tariqat,  approved Shaykh Hisham Kabbani's appointment as the deputy (khalipha) of Central Java for the Order.

Above, Naqshbandis from Central Java renew their initiation (baya`) again, this time with Shaykh Hisham.

The Blessed Maqam of Sayyid Abdullah Al-Khani

Later, Shaykh Nazim and Shaykh Hisham visited the maqam of Sayyid Abdullah Al-Khani. Sayyid Abdullah was a Naqshbandi shaykh and student of Shaykh Khalid Al-Baghdadi, and an author who wrote prolifically about Sayyidina Shah Naqshband and other Naqshbandi shaykhs.
