condemns bombing in Islamabad
(Washington,
DC 03/18/02) - We at the Islamic Supreme Council of America are saddened and dismayed
by yesterday's terrorist attacks in Islamabad, Pakistan. The
tragic killing of innocent people, engaged in worship at a
church, painfully reminds us of the senseless brutality promoted
by terrorism. Islam categorically condemns such acts of violence,
and we emphatically state that persons who engage in such
acts cannot be adherents to any faith or religion when they
so blatantly lack regard for human life.
We extend
our heartfelt prayers to the families of the victims of this
senseless attack, to the community in which it occurred, and
to our entire diplomatic core that is far from home during
this dangerous time, serving our country overseas.
